The Mt. Zion Baptist Church was founded in 1888 in Connersville, Indiana. This short history covers the first 77 years of the church. All of the former pastors are named.
The publication includes photographs of a number of the church members at the time the history was written in 1965, as well as many of their names.
Many parishioners have descended from Boone County, Kentucky enslaved families. Descendents migrated from Boone County across the Ohio River into Indiana at the end of the nineteenth century.
